Let’s get into it, shall we?

Samsung Finally Launches the First Android XR Headset

Samsung unveiled its mixed reality headset earlier this week at an online Galaxy event. Simply called the Galaxy XR, it comes packed with the latest Galaxy AI and Gemini capabilities.

Built on the Android XR platform, the headset runs Android apps while understanding your surroundings. It responds naturally through voice, vision, and gesture controls, helping you manage tasks more intuitively.

According to Android Central’s Senior Editor Michael Hicks, the Galaxy XR feels light and comfortable to wear for extended periods—perfect for gaming or binge-watching your favorite Netflix shows.

Under the hood, the Galaxy XR headset runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 platform, with 16GB of memory and a Micro-OLED display pushing 29 million pixels at up to 90Hz. The visuals are sharp and immersive, enhanced by dual speakers delivering immersive sound. It also tracks your head, hands, and eyes with precision using an array of cameras and sensors.

OnePlus 15 Arrives Next Week, But Not for Everyone

After numerous leaks and teasers, OnePlus officially announced the launch date of its next flagship device, the OnePlus 15. Unlike the usual progression, there won’t be a OnePlus 14—an intentional skip to avoid bad juju.

The OnePlus 15 is set to launch in China on October 27. While the global release date remains unconfirmed, rumors suggest a worldwide launch could happen on November 13, just two weeks after China’s debut.

Alongside it, OnePlus will introduce the OnePlus Ace 6, expected to hit global markets as the OnePlus 15R.

The flagship is rumored to feature a stunning 165Hz refresh rate, come in three vibrant colorways, and be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. A recent leak also indicated that the OnePlus 15 might switch from a 2K display to a 1.5K resolution, a slight downgrade potentially offset by thinner bezels.

Google Sneaks in the ‘Report’ Button for Android Auto

Some Android Auto users recently noticed a subtle but useful update in Google Maps. Following the latest update, a new “Report” button now appears in the app when used through Android Auto. This lets users report crashes, police incidents, congestion, and more directly from their vehicle’s screen, bypassing the need to use their phone.

Additional interface tweaks include a relocated Guidance Audio button, now found within the app’s settings. Also, the “suggested destinations” menu behavior has changed: it no longer auto-expands on first use but opens into a full-screen search and suggested destinations list when tapped.

The update began rolling out in phases to users starting October 21.

Galaxy S26 Series May Not Launch in January

Samsung’s next flagship series, the Galaxy S26, is reportedly facing a delay. Leaker Ice Universe shared on Weibo that the Galaxy S26 launch has been postponed from its usual January timeframe.

Another reputable tipster, Instant Digital, also hinted at a possible delay, suggesting the launch could be pushed to March 2026 to “present it better to everyone.” This is highly unusual for Samsung, which typically launches its flagship devices in the second or third week of January.

The delay could be linked to rumored lineup changes, including the potential absence of the ultra-slim Edge model next year. If confirmed, the Galaxy S26 could debut as late as February or March 2026.

Amazon Gives Us the First Look at Its Smart Glasses

Amazon officially revealed a glimpse of its upcoming smart glasses designed to support delivery associates in their workflow. According to a recent blog post, these glasses aim to make deliveries “safer and more seamless.”

The glasses enable associates to scan packages, follow turn-by-turn walking directions, and capture proof of delivery—all hands-free without needing to pull out their phones.

Equipped with cameras, computer vision, and AI-powered sensing, these smart glasses differ from consumer models by featuring a fixed green monochrome heads-up display that shows package details within the delivery associate’s field of view.

Additionally, the glasses come with a small controller worn on the delivery vest, powered by a swappable battery for “all-day use.” Amazon also said the glasses support prescription lenses and automatically adjust to varying light conditions.
