FromSoftware has announced a delay for the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, pushing it back to 2026. The studio made this decision to focus on improving the game’s performance on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
The delay was officially confirmed in a statement shared on X. Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was initially revealed during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct event in April, generating significant excitement among fans.
The game was later playable at Gamescom in August, where players reported notably poor performance on the Switch 2 version. In response to this feedback, FromSoftware specifically cited the need for performance improvements as the primary reason behind the delay.
By taking additional time to optimize Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, FromSoftware aims to deliver a better experience for players once the game launches on Nintendo’s new platform.
