Mariah Carey’s estranged older brother, Morgan Carey, has launched a fresh attack against the Grammy-winning singer in the latest chapter of his ongoing defamation lawsuit, RadarOnline.com can report.
The siblings’ bitter legal battle centers around claims made in Mariah’s 2020 memoir, *The Meaning of Mariah Carey*, where the superstar detailed her turbulent childhood. In the book, Mariah accused Morgan of being violent and selling cocaine—allegations he vehemently denies.
Morgan, 60, disputes Mariah’s claims, particularly denying ever engaging in physical altercations with their parents. He insists the accusations are lies that have severely damaged his reputation.
According to court documents, Morgan did not initially want to sue his sister but felt compelled to take legal action after the book’s publication in order to protect his name.

Interestingly, Morgan also takes credit for playing a role in Mariah’s meteoric rise to fame. He points out that, as acknowledged in her memoir, he introduced her to Ben Margulies and even financed her first demo recording. Margulies co-wrote seven of the eleven songs on Mariah’s debut album, three of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The album ultimately sold 20 million copies worldwide.
### Renewed Attacks: The YouTube Controversy
Morgan has not held back in escalating the conflict. In a recent legal filing, he alleges that Mariah employed a fan who produced a scathing YouTube exposé targeting him.
The video, created by a fan known as “Lambily” — a term for Mariah’s loyal fanbase dubbed “Lambs” — was titled *Morgan Carey: A Deep Dive Into Mariah Carey’s Disturbing Older Brother.*
Morgan claims that this fan is operating under Mariah’s direction and that the defamatory statements made in the video reflect Mariah’s personal views.
> The complaint states, “…the individual identified as responsible for this video, one Lambily, is within the employment and control of Mariah, and the statements in it were made by her both personally through Lambily.”
### Reopening Old Wounds
The YouTube video revisits Mariah’s memoir allegations that Morgan was physically violent toward their mother, Patricia Carey.
Much of the family drama dates back to 1973 when their father, Alfred Roy Carey, abandoned the family amid turbulent circumstances.
The video also includes clips of Morgan criticizing Mariah. In one, he states:
