Prince Andrew has announced that he is giving up his titles, including the Duke of York, in a personal statement.
The decision comes amid increasing pressure over his links with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. There have been widespread calls for Buckingham Palace to take action against the prince.
As a result, Prince Andrew has voluntarily decided to hand back his titles and relinquish his membership of the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain.
In his statement, he maintained that he “vigorously deny[ed] the accusations against me.”
