Voters have until Monday to register for mail-in ballots in November election

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters’ office reminded San Diegans on Friday that they have until Monday to register to vote if they want to receive a ballot by mail for the Nov. 4 special election.

If the registration deadline passes, eligible voters will need to visit the registrar’s office in Kearny Mesa or go to a vote center starting Oct. 25 to conditionally register and vote provisionally.

### How to Register

Registering to vote can be done easily online at [sdvote.com](https://sdvote.com). Prospective voters must register if they have not already done so, have recently moved, or have changed their name.

If a person’s signature is confirmed through records at the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), their registration will automatically be sent to the Registrar’s office. If the signature cannot be verified, the individual can print the registration form, sign it, and return it to the Registrar by 5 p.m. on Monday.

### Early Voting and Vote Center Locations

Early voting is already underway Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Registrar of Voters office in Kearny Mesa, located at 5600 Overland Ave.

Starting Saturday, Oct. 25, select vote centers throughout the county will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Then, beginning Nov. 1, all vote centers will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Election Day, Nov. 4, all vote centers, official ballot drop boxes, and the Registrar’s office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

### What’s on the Ballot?

Voters statewide will decide on Proposition 50, an amendment to the California Constitution concerning the redistricting process.

Additionally, residents of Poway’s Council District 2 will vote on whether to remove their elected representative from the city council.

Make sure to register before the deadline and participate in this important election!
