SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KFSN) – A big honor was bestowed today upon a familiar face you know and trust here at ABC30. Action News Anchor Dale Yurong was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle.
The ceremony took place Saturday afternoon in South San Francisco. The Silver Circle honors individuals in television broadcasting who have served their communities with passion, integrity, and excellence.
Dale joined Action News in 1983. Over the years, he became a beloved sports anchor and morning anchor before transitioning to the evening anchor desk 20 years ago. He continues to anchor the live broadcasts at 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Throughout his career, Dale has remained a dedicated reporter, going into the community day after day to tell the stories of Central California. Reflecting on his work, Dale says, “The work we do as journalists, the work we do collectively, matters & our viewers depend on us. They depend on us to help provide some clarity in their everyday lives and, above all else, they need us to continue our relentless pursuit of the truth.”
Dale is one of 11 inductees honored today, including three of our fellow ABC colleagues from our San Francisco sister station, KGO TV.
Congratulations to Dale and all the honorees recognized for their outstanding contributions to television and the community.
