### In Memoriam
We remember the Grammy Award-winning singer D’Angelo, best known for hits like “Brown Sugar,” “Lady,” and “Untitled (How Does it Feel).” He had been privately battling pancreatic cancer and was 51.
We also honor Academy Award-winning actress Diane Keaton, renowned for her roles in classics such as *Something’s Gotta Give*, *The Godfather*, *Annie Hall*, and *The First Wives Club*. Keaton was 79.
Additionally, we take a moment to remember cultural warrior Rhoda A. Blount. She had a deep passion for the arts, artists, and music. Blount was the former Vice President of Education and Community Engagement at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts and had recently retired. She was known for her warm and loving spirit and will be fondly remembered. Blount was 75.

### Movie and Broadway News
Rapper Cardi B is embarking on the biggest tour of her career, with a stop in Philadelphia on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Xfinity Mobile Arena (formerly the Wells Fargo Center).
Production has wrapped on the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua (*Training Day*). Jafaar Jackson, Jermaine Jackson’s son, will portray the King of Pop. The film will explore Jackson’s incredible achievements, as well as the highs and lows of his career and his creative genius.
Philly native Colman Domingo will play family patriarch Joe Jackson, while actress Nia Long takes on the role of Katherine Jackson. Larenz Tate has been cast as Motown legend Berry Gordy, and Kendrick Patrick will portray Quincy Jones. The movie is scheduled for release in April 2026.
Marvel movies are making a big comeback in 2026, featuring *Avengers: Doomsday* on May 1 and *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* starring Tom Holland on July 31.
In other exciting news, Lizzo has signed on for her first movie role as music legend Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The film is produced by Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker and will highlight Tharpe’s influence on rock ’n’ roll icons including Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Johnny Cash.
A nationwide search is underway for the revival of *Dreamgirls*, set to hit Broadway in the fall of 2026.
Additionally, the TLC musical *CrazySexyCool* may be headed to Broadway after its upcoming run in Washington, D.C. This show about the ‘90s girl group featuring T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli will showcase hits like “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls.”
