TwitchCon 2025 keynote announcements include dual-format streams & Meta AI glasses integration

This year marks a significant milestone for Twitch’s annual convention, TwitchCon, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. To commemorate this special occasion, the streaming giant is kicking off the event with some exciting announcements and new features.

The festivities began on Friday with the TwitchCon keynote, featuring several company luminaries, including CEO Dan Clancy. During his address, Clancy unveiled some upcoming features designed to enhance the streaming experience for both creators and viewers.

One of the most anticipated new features is dual-format streaming, which will allow streamers to broadcast in multiple formats simultaneously. Additionally, Twitch announced a groundbreaking integration with Meta’s line of AI glasses. This new capability will enable streamers to go live directly from the AI glasses, making it easier for audiences to catch streams whether they are at home or on the go via the Twitch mobile app.

Twitch plans to roll out this feature soon, with beta testing scheduled to begin as early as next week. The integration with Meta’s AI glasses will require a strong internet connection, ensuring streamers can broadcast live at any time with ease. Looking ahead, the Twitch mobile app is expected to incorporate support for these AI glasses in the coming months, further expanding the ways viewers can engage with live content.

Beyond technological advancements, TwitchCon also brought a host of other noteworthy announcements. Streamers will soon benefit from a simplified process to secure sponsorships, empowering more creators to monetize their content efficiently. Medium-sized streamers, in particular, will gain the ability to run their own promotions, opening new avenues for growth and audience engagement.

Twitch has also introduced important adjustments to its community guidelines. These changes aim to create a more balanced and fair platform by ensuring that minor offenses will no longer result in a complete ban from Twitch. This update reflects Twitch’s commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive community.

In addition, Twitch has enhanced moderation tools by allowing streamers to assign new roles within their communities. The newly introduced Lead Moderator role grants users the ability to add or remove moderators at any time, streamlining channel management. Meanwhile, the Agent role offers trusted individuals access to a streamer’s analytics and financial information, supporting creators in managing their channels more effectively.

With these updates and innovations, TwitchCon 2024 promises to be a landmark event that sets the stage for the future of streaming. Stay tuned for more developments as Twitch continues to evolve and support its vibrant community of creators and fans.
