Nintendo (NTDOY) is reportedly ramping up Switch 2 production to 25 million units by March 2026

Nintendo’s highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 console is set to surpass analysts’ sales expectations as the company accelerates production. According to a report by Bloomberg, Nintendo aims to produce approximately 25 million units by March 2026.

Insiders reveal that Nintendo has instructed its manufacturing partners to boost output, anticipating strong demand for the console throughout the holiday season and into the first quarter of 2026. This marks a significant increase from the company’s earlier sales forecast of 15 million Switch 2 consoles by the end of fiscal year 2026.

The console’s initial performance has been impressive. In the first quarter of FY26 alone, the Nintendo Switch 2 sold 5.82 million units, including 3.5 million sold within the first four days after launch. Software sales have also been robust, with launch title *Mario Kart World* selling 5.63 million copies—nearly a one-to-one attach rate with the console.

Nintendo’s decision to ramp up production underscores its confidence in maintaining a strong market position despite challenges such as U.S. tariff measures. Notably, in August, Nintendo upheld its earnings forecast even amid these external pressures, signaling resilience in a complex market environment.

With increased production and continued strong sales, the Nintendo Switch 2 is poised to be a major success story for Nintendo in the coming year.
