Letter: Congress must bend to get government running

Congresspeople proudly cash their paychecks while others suffer during this shutdown. That needs to change, along with their childish bickering and whining.

In fact, why don’t “we the people” unite and get rid of all 535 members of Congress and leave it to the states? This action would put an end to their ridiculous spending and help pay off all of our debts.

Any person in Congress who is voting strictly along party lines should be fired because they are not doing the work and the will of the people. No one party has all the answers. This childish play between Democrats and Republicans must stop.

I am glad that most of our local state politicians here in Hawaii still believe in doing the right thing for the people. Halloween can’t come soon enough for Congress, because most members are already dressed as clowns.
