How to Get Weapon XP Fast in Battlefield 6
The weapon grind in Battlefield games has always been a slog, and Battlefield 6 is no exception. This time around, however, we have more freedom than ever in how we level weapons, and more ability than ever to level them up fast. Here’s how.
Getting Weapon XP
You earn weapon XP from kills, assists, suppressions, and similar actions, so you’ll need lots of these in a match to level your weapons quickly. Using a Hardware XP Booster provides temporary double XP for your equipped weapon, but these boosters are relatively limited, so you’ll want to save them for the weapons you really want to upgrade.
Farming Bot Servers for Fast Weapon XP
To make things easier, consider farming bot servers. Here, you and a few other human players can wait at the opposing team’s spawn and shred the bots as they attempt to leave the spawn area. This method allows for fast and consistent kills and, consequently, weapon XP.
To find a bot farm server in Battlefield 6, go into the server browser and type “bot farm” into the filter menu. Also, make sure there are 11+ open slots. When selecting a server, consider the following:
- A low human player count – to avoid competing with other grinders for XP
- A smaller map like Empire State or Siege of Cairo – these have well-defined spawn and choke points, making it easier to funnel bots into a kill zone
- Preferably a server without class-locked weapons – so you can level whatever weapon you want
Which server you choose will depend on your region, time of day, and personal preferences. During research, one recommended bot farming server code was 4EM4. This server featured bots that were less challenging, thousands of tickets between matches, and relatively few other human players, making it ideal for farming.
Bot Farming Etiquette
There are some unwritten rules to keep in mind when farming bots:
- Don’t shoot other players. You’ll know a player is human because they take significantly more bullets to kill. If you accidentally start shooting a player, stop immediately.
- Stick to the spawns, not the objectives. Playing the objective like a normal match reduces the number of bots you encounter. Instead, position yourself near or at the enemy spawn and hold the line.
- Don’t hog a spawn choke point. If you see more than three or four other players killing bots at a choke point, consider moving to another location.
- Resupply your non-support teammates. If playing Support, throw down Supply Crates near your farming teammates to keep their ammo stocked.
- Keep vehicles out of the conversation. Avoid using tanks, helicopters, and jets as everyone is there to farm bots with their weapons without interference.
Be aware that some players may try to disrupt your farming sessions, and often the best solution is to switch servers. As long as you stay polite with your teammates and enemy players, you can easily spend hours mindlessly grinding through thousands of bots and earning a significant amount of weapon XP.
How to Level Your Weapons Fast in Non-Bot Matches
Leveling weapons efficiently in standard matches can be more unpredictable since you only earn XP when you kill enemies. However, you can maximize your gains by:
- Killing enemies on the objective – this grants an additional 50 XP per kill
- Saving or avenging teammates – which gives you 25 extra XP
- Damage assists – it’s unclear if these count toward weapon XP, but they likely help as well
Holding down a power position behind hard cover near the objective is a strong strategy, especially if you’re defending. This position gives you a steady stream of enemies to kill and assists to level your account. Be prepared to change positions occasionally, as aggressive enemies will swarm after you take out multiple foes.
Final Tips
Don’t neglect to use your Hardware XP Boosters. They’re a precious resource, so save them for the weapons you want to max out early. Double XP is a wonderful advantage.
While bot farming is the most efficient way to level weapons, it’s not the most exciting way to play Battlefield 6. For a more enjoyable experience, consider leveling your weapons during actual matches whenever possible.
