MANILA, Philippines – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Tuesday announced a $400-million policy-based loan aimed at boosting the Philippines’ insurance sector.

The loan will help create an enabling environment to encourage broader participation in the industry. Known as the Insurance Reform Program, Subprogram 1, this initiative supports wider financial sector development reforms focused on regulation and supervision.

These reforms are designed to promote greater intermediation of long-term investments, strengthening the overall insurance landscape in the country.
