Kinki University has announced plans to relocate its medical faculty and hospital from their aging facilities to a new site in Sakai’s Minami Ward. The new campus will be situated directly in front of Izumigaoka Station on the Nankai Senboku Line, providing significantly improved access from central Osaka.
This modern campus will accommodate approximately 800 students from the medical faculty, as well as a newly established nursing faculty set to welcome its first class in April next year. Alongside the educational facilities, the university hospital will also move to the new location. It will be equipped with the latest medical technologies, enabling the provision of advanced treatment and expanded patient care.
“We hope to make the most of the excellent access so that patients from a wide range of areas can come here and make full use of our services,” said Tomonori Higashida, the hospital director.
Kinki University aims to leverage the new facility as a hub to further contribute to the development of healthcare in southern Osaka. This move will strengthen both the university’s educational mission and its clinical capabilities, enhancing its role in the community for years to come.
