‘No Religious Test Shall Be…’: Vivek Ramaswamy Schools Young Christian On Hindu Faith & US Constitution | VIDEO

**Vivek Ramaswamy Turns Question About Hindu Beliefs Into Civics Lesson at University of Minnesota**

At a recent Turning Point USA event held at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Republican politician and 2026 Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy skillfully turned a pointed question about his Hindu faith into a broader civics lesson. The exchange unfolded when a young Christian attendee, Liam Birmingham, challenged Ramaswamy on whether his beliefs aligned with “Christian values.”

In a now-viral video shared on X, Birmingham asked Ramaswamy why a “polytheistic ideology” like Hinduism would share any Christian values. Ramaswamy responded by clarifying his own monotheistic faith, rooted in the Vedanta tradition of Advaita philosophy.

“With due respect, I’ll just cut in right there because it’s one thing I have a little bit of authority on. I believe in this one true God from the Vedanta tradition of Advaita philosophy,” Ramaswamy explained.

He then drew parallels between Hinduism and Christianity, highlighting a conceptual similarity between the Hindu understanding of divine manifestations and the Christian doctrine of the Holy Trinity.

“Doesn’t make you a polytheist, does it?” Ramaswamy asked, emphasizing that both faiths reconcile “the one and the many.”

The exchange took an interesting turn when Ramaswamy invited Birmingham onto the stage, commended him for his thoughtful question, and handed him a copy of the United States Constitution. Ramaswamy then asked the young man to read aloud Article VI, Clause 3, which states that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

“What matters more than differences in faith are shared values,” Ramaswamy said. He described the Constitution as “next to my faith and family, the most important thing in life.”

Since its release, the video has garnered over 420,000 views and sparked mixed reactions online. Many users applauded Ramaswamy’s composure and his emphasis on civic unity, while others questioned his religious background and political ambitions.

This event was part of the “This is the Turning Point Tour,” held in the aftermath of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA.
