Video: Cobra Takes Elevator Ride In Noida’s Golden Palm Society; Residents Alarmed

**Cobra Found Inside Elevator at Golden Palm Society, Noida: Residents Alarmed**

Residents of the Golden Palm Society in Sector 168, Noida, were left startled on Sunday, October 5, after discovering a cobra inside the lift of their high-rise residential complex. The reptile, seen with its hood raised and coiled on the elevator floor, was later rescued unharmed following a cautious operation by the society’s maintenance team.

**The Incident**

According to residents, the incident occurred when a few people were waiting for the elevator and found a full-grown cobra already inside as the doors opened. The unexpected sight caused immediate alarm, prompting residents to quickly alert the society’s maintenance staff.

Armed with basic equipment, the maintenance team managed to contain the snake using a garbage bin. They then ensured its safe release in a nearby open area, away from the residential complex. A video recorded by residents shows the brownish cobra hooding defensively on the elevator floor while rescuers carefully maneuvered it into the container.

**Habitat Loss Driving Snakes into Urban Areas**

While no one was harmed in the incident, it has unsettled the residents, many of whom expressed concerns about the possibility of similar encounters within the premises. Parents, in particular, mentioned that their children are now hesitant to use the elevator alone.

Reports suggest that snakes have been spotted in the society before, likely entering from the surrounding green patches. Experts attribute such sightings to habitat disruption during the monsoon season and the rapid pace of construction activity in Noida.

Forest department data indicates that around 50 snake rescues take place during peak months, highlighting how urban expansion continues to bring humans and wildlife into closer contact.

**Measures Taken by Society Management**

In response to the incident, the Golden Palm Society management has reportedly increased monitoring of common areas and urged residents to stay alert. They are also taking steps to prevent future occurrences by coordinating with wildlife and forest department officials.

Residents are advised to remain cautious and report any wildlife sightings promptly to ensure safety for all.
