The reptile, seen with its hood raised and coiled on the elevator floor, was later rescued unharmed following a cautious operation by the society’s maintenance team.

According to residents, the incident occurred when a few people were waiting for the elevator and found a full-grown cobra already inside as the doors opened. The unexpected sight caused immediate alarm, prompting residents to quickly alert the society’s maintenance staff.
Armed with basic equipment, the maintenance team managed to contain the snake using a garbage bin. They then ensured its safe release in a nearby open area, away from the residential complex. A video recorded by residents shows the brownish cobra hooding defensively on the elevator floor while rescuers carefully maneuvered it into the container.
