**India Beat Pakistan in Match 6 of 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup in Colombo**

The Women in Blue continued their dominance over Pakistan, securing a convincing win in Match 6 of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup held in Colombo. India posted a challenging total of 247 runs in their 50 overs despite struggles in the middle overs. Notably, no Indian batter scored a half-century in the innings.

Pakistan’s chase faltered early as they were reduced to 26/3 before Sidra Amin staged a valiant rescue. However, Pakistan ultimately fell short, all out for 159. With this victory, India extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan to 5-0 in WODI World Cups.

### India Falter After a Fine Start

After being invited to bat, India had an ideal beginning. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put together a 48-run opening partnership before Fatima Sana claimed Mandhana’s wicket. Rawal (31) soon followed, dismissed by Sadia Iqbal, leaving India at 67/2.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Deol steadied the innings, taking India past the 100-run mark. However, Diana Baig delivered a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Harmanpreet. From there, Pakistan’s spinners tightened the grip on the Indian batters.

### Second Half: India Keep the Scoreboard Ticking

Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues helped India cross the 150-run mark but both were dismissed in quick succession by Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu. Deol was the top scorer with 46 runs.

In the latter stages, Sneh Rana (20) and Deepti Sharma (25) kept the scoreboard moving, while Richa Ghosh provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 35 off 20 balls. Kranti Gaud was instrumental in the death overs, smashing two pivotal boundaries that helped India close at 247.

### Diana Baig Takes Four Wickets

Pakistan’s bowling was spearheaded by Diana Baig, who delivered an impressive spell of 4 wickets for 69 runs in her 10 overs. Sadia Iqbal and captain Fatima Sana contributed with two wickets each. Sana maintained a tidy economy rate of 3.80.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Baig’s figures rank as the third-best by a Pakistani bowler in Women’s ODI World Cup history, trailing only Nida Dar (4/10) and Nashra Sandhu (4/26).

### Pakistan Struggle From the Outset

Pakistan’s innings began on a shaky note as they lost three wickets for just 26 runs within the first 12 overs. A controversial run-out of Muneeba Ali stirred conversations on the field.

With wickets tumbling at the other end, Sidra Amin emerged as the backbone of the innings. She forged valuable partnerships with Natalia Pervaiz (33) and Sidra Nawaz (14). However, the dismissals of Nawaz and Rameen Shamim pegged Pakistan back at 146/7.

### Amin’s Half-Century Goes in Vain

Sidra Amin was Pakistan’s lone shining star, battling hard to keep hopes alive with a brilliant 81-run knock off 106 balls, including 9 fours and 1 six. This was Amin’s 13th half-century in 79 WODI matches. She has accumulated 2,352 runs at an average of 33.12 and a strike rate of 64.06 in her career, which also includes six centuries.

Her innings ended in the 40th over, dismissed by Sneh Rana.

### Kranti Gaud: Player of the Match

Kranti Gaud’s all-round performance earned her the Player of the Match award. She bowled with great heart, picking up three wickets for just 20 runs in 10 overs, including three maidens. Gaud notably dismissed Aliya Riaz after coaching her team to retain the second slip, finishing with the best economy rate among the bowlers.

Deepti Sharma supported well with three wickets, while Sneh Rana chipped in with two important scalps.

### India’s Winning Streak Against Pakistan Continues

With this victory, India maintain their perfect record against Pakistan in ICC Women’s ODI World Cups, now standing at 5-0. Overall, India have never lost to Pakistan in the WODI format, holding a dominant 12-0 head-to-head record.

India’s consistent performances shine as they look ahead with confidence in this year’s World Cup.
