Pune: Leopard Attacks Calf Tied Outside House in Junnar’s Pimpalwadi Village; Terrifying Video Goes Viral

Leopard attacks in Pune’s Junnar taluka have been on the rise recently, causing increasing concern among local residents.

In the latest incident, a leopard mauled a calf that was tied outside a house in Pimpalwadi village. A video of the attack quickly went viral on social media. In the footage, the leopard can be seen attacking the calf while residents shout from a window at a safe distance. Startled by the noise, the leopard moved towards the house, but fortunately, the door was shut, and the family inside remained unharmed.

Tragically, not all recent encounters have ended without loss. In another incident, a six-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard in Kumshet village. The boy, identified as Siddharth Pravin Kedkar, who was studying in Class I, was attacked around 7:30 pm while studying outside his house. The leopard pounced on him and dragged him away.

Unaware of the attack, Siddharth’s family initially searched for him at neighbors’ and relatives’ houses. They later discovered his body about 100 meters from their home.

This marks the second leopard-related death in Pune district during the financial year 2025–26. Earlier in April, an 85-year-old woman sleeping outside her house was attacked by a leopard in Shirur’s Inamgaon.

Authorities and wildlife officials are urged to take measures to address the rising conflict between humans and leopards in the region to ensure the safety of residents.
