**Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary Labels GST 2.0 as ‘GST Savings Festival’ in Indore**

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): On Monday, Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, described the newly implemented GST 2.0 as a ‘GST Savings Festival.’ Emphasising the government’s proactive approach, he stated that officials are now reaching out directly to the people to better understand their issues and gather suggestions.

During an interactive session with local businessmen and industrialists, Chaudhary assured attendees that their constructive feedback would play a key role in shaping future reforms under GST 2.0. He also highlighted the Government of India’s ongoing efforts towards simplifying the tax structure to benefit taxpayers.

The meeting was organised under the aegis of the Central Goods and Services Tax, Bhopal Zone, and held at the Brilliant Convention Centre. Approximately 200 taxpayers participated, including representatives from the Micro and Small Industries Association Laghu Udyog Bharati, prominent trade and industry bodies, as well as Chartered Accountants and tax consultants’ organisations.

The discussion mainly focused on the Next-Gen GST reforms (GST 2.0), implemented from September 22 this year. Various queries and concerns raised by trade and industry stakeholders were addressed in detail during the session.

Distinguished guests at the event included MP Shankar Lalwani, Surjit Bhujabal, Member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), New Delhi, and Sandeep Puri, Chief Commissioner of CGST Bhopal Zone.

MP Lalwani praised the new GST reforms, describing them as highly beneficial for both the common public and taxpayers. He extended heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for their initiatives.

Other notable attendees were Yogesh Mehta, President of the Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh (AIMP); Sumit Suri from the Hotels Association; Mahesh Gupta, former state president of Laghu Udhyog Bharati, along with several other businessmen and industrialists.

The event also witnessed valuable suggestions from businessmen and tax consultants aimed at further improving the GST administration, reflecting the collaborative spirit behind GST 2.0 reforms.
