**Mumbai Police Arrest Illegal Arms Supplier Ravindra Pandey from Gorakhpur**
The Malad Police have apprehended Ravindra, also known as Raghavendra Pandey, an illegal arms supplier, from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. During the operation, authorities seized three country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges, one foreign-made pistol, two magazines, 10 twelve-bore cartridges, and a Maruti Suzuki Scorpio.
**Investigation Triggered by Tip-Off**
The investigation began after the police received information about Pandey from his associate, Dheeraj Upadhyay. Upadhyay was arrested on September 16 in Malad while in possession of two country-made pistols and live cartridges. According to DCP Sandeep Jadhav, PSI Rafiq Gavandi received a tip-off reporting that a man was roaming near the Yatri Hotel in Malad West with illegal weapons. Acting on this, a police team led by Senior Inspector Dushyant Chavan apprehended Upadhyay and confiscated the weapons.
**Network Uncovered**
Further investigation revealed that Upadhyay had five cases registered against him at Kasturba Marg, Dahisar, Samta Nagar, and MHB Colony police stations. During interrogation, he disclosed that Ravindra Pandey supplied him with weapons from Gorakhpur.
Following this critical lead, a Malad police team traveled to Gorakhpur and arrested Pandey. Authorities are currently probing the origin of the seized weapons and working to identify others involved in this illegal arms network.
The Malad Police continue their efforts to dismantle the arms supply chain and ensure the safety of the community.
