Madhya Pradesh Political Punch: Patience Wearing Out, Seed Of Happiness, Reality In Politics

**Nobody Listens!**

A senior leader of the ruling party recently poured out his frustrations, lamenting that nobody listens to him. He made this statement during a meeting with the party’s senior leaders. However, such a situation is not new for him. During the tenure of the previous government, he had complained that officers barely paid any heed to his words.

This leader has courted many controversies during his current tenure in office. One controversy after another seems to be haunting him, and he feels that very few stand by him amid these challenges. The general opinion about him is rather harsh — many believe he is good for nothing.

He is right in saying that if he calls up any officer for work, his requests often go unheeded. The higher-ups in the government actually control the departments that function under him, which is why his appeals go unheard. However, it is also true that the leader is making money through his family members.

**Patience Wearing Out**

The patience of a central minister is wearing thin. It is said that he is not receiving enough importance in the state, which is making him restless. Recently, his supporters put up a poster demanding that the party make him the head of the state. The ruling dispensation, however, did not respond to the poster.

People in the corridors of power say that this union minister harbours ambitions of becoming the state’s head — the very reason behind his previous dispute with his former party. Now, his impatience is becoming increasingly visible.

Because of local politics, he has developed disputes with a BJP leader. This BJP leader enjoys considerable importance in the government, which adds to the minister’s dissatisfaction. Meanwhile, the union minister is flexing his strength in regions where he wields power.

Another motive behind these developments is the minister’s desire to secure positions for some of his supporters in the BJP’s state executive committee, as well as on boards and corporations where political appointments are forthcoming.

**Bid to Befriend All**

A leader of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) is making efforts to befriend everyone. Coming from a strong political background, he is trying to maintain relationships with members of all factions within his party. Notably, he has also reconciled with BJP leaders with whom he previously had bitter relations.

His recent birthday was celebrated with much fanfare. Many people, including BJP leaders, came to greet him. Even those BJP leaders who were once his political rivals paid him a visit. Prior to this, he was seen at the home of a senior Congress leader after a long gap.

The problem with this leader is that, despite being considered for two important positions in the state, he has remained without any official post for a long time. This has caused some frustration, yet he remains committed to seeing his party return to power. He was visibly unhappy with the previous Congress government.

**Reality in Politics**

Ruling party leaders often gather outside cinemas to watch movies on national and religious themes. They took time out of their busy schedules to watch films like *Kashmir Files*. However, their reaction to the movie made about the UP head was markedly different — showing little interest.

This lack of enthusiasm surprised many in the corridors of power in Madhya Pradesh. It appears they are waiting for the Centre’s stand on the film. Once they receive a positive nod from the central leadership, they may flock to cinemas to watch it.

Politics often demands running with the pack. When one leader falters, others consider him injured and often rub salt in the wound.

**Seed of Happiness**

An MLA from the ruling party, representing the state capital, places family values above everything. He frequently emphasizes the necessity of following those values and practices what he preaches.

He advises people to stay home and celebrate festivals like Diwali, Dussehra, and Holi with their families, so children can learn traditional ways of celebration. He warns that if children are left outdoors during festivals, they are more likely to spend time playing with mobile phones.

This BJP lawmaker resonates with Leo Tolstoy’s words in *Anna Karenina*: “All happy families resemble one another, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”

**Hell City!**

A minister from the Madhya Pradesh cabinet, who is also in charge of an important district, recently criticized the local government at a press conference. The minister did not hold back, roasting the government in the presence of a central minister representing the same region.

He said the city he oversees has turned into “hell” due to potholed roads. His strong comments left ruling party members present at the event looking red-faced.

While a minister needs funds to develop a city, in this state, the government controls every penny, often withholding even minimal allocations for development projects.

In a sharp retort, the Congress suggested that the government should give this minister charge of more districts so he could create more “hells.” This remark left the ruling party speechless and visibly embarrassed.
