In a crucial Men’s T20 Asia Cup Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka in Dubai, Team India’s batter Tilak Varma played a pivotal role in guiding his side to a total of 202/5. Varma remained unbeaten on 49 runs off just 34 balls, showcasing his aggressive yet composed batting.

Varma walked to the crease when India were 74/2, following the fall of half-centurion Abhishek Sharma, who scored 92 before getting out. He soon formed a valuable 66-run partnership with Sanju Samson for the fourth wicket, stabilizing the innings and keeping the momentum alive.

After Hardik Pandya’s dismissal, Varma continued to anchor the innings alongside Axar Patel, with the duo adding an unbeaten 40 runs to finish strong. His ability to build partnerships proved crucial in India posting a challenging total.

**Varma’s Performance in Numbers**

During his innings, Varma struck four boundaries and one six, maintaining an impressive strike rate of 150.84. Over his T20 career, he has accumulated 893 runs in 31 matches at an average of 49.61. His record also includes two centuries and three fifties.

Varma is nearing a personal milestone with 49 sixes in T20 cricket, just one short of reaching 50. Overall, in all T20 formats, he has scored 3,802 runs from 125 games (118 innings) at an average of 43.20, including 25 half-centuries.

Tilak Varma’s consistent performances continue to make him a key player for India in the shortest format of the game.
