The Beginning of a Process: Western Countries Recognize Palestinian State at UNGA

Western countries are taking a significant step by recognizing the Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, framed his country’s planned recognition of a Palestinian state as an important move toward achieving a two-state solution.

During a high-level meeting of heads of state focused on the two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians, held at United Nations headquarters in New York City on September 22, 2025, Prime Minister Frieden addressed delegates and emphasized the importance of this diplomatic step.
