Indore Tragic! Two Dead, 12 Hurt As Dilapidated Building Caves In

**Building Collapse in Indore’s Dolatganj Leaves Two Dead, Several Injured**

*Indore, Madhya Pradesh* – At least two people lost their lives and 12 others were injured when a three-storey building collapsed suddenly at Dolatganj in the Ranipura area late Monday evening. The tragic incident, which occurred around 9:12 pm near the busy Jawahar Marg, sent shockwaves through the locality as the structure came down like a pack of cards.

The deceased have been identified as Faheem and Alifa, a 20-year-old woman and daughter of Rafuddin. Eyewitnesses recalled hearing a loud crash followed by clouds of dust and screams as the building disintegrated within seconds. Most residents were indoors at the time of the collapse.

### Building Condition and Ownership

Though reportedly only 15 years old, locals mentioned that the building had visible cracks aggravated by the ongoing monsoon rains. Heavy downpours are believed to have further weakened the walls and foundation. Some residents also alleged that the structure was partly constructed on an encroached nullah belt.

The building was owned by a man known locally as Sambhu Baba and housed at least four families.

### Rescue Efforts and Injured Victims

Resident Boman Ilyas said that rescue teams, assisted by locals, pulled more than a dozen people from the debris and rushed them to nearby hospitals. As of 1 am, a few individuals were still feared trapped under the rubble.

Among the injured is a three-month-old baby girl named Yasira (daughter of Jiya), and a seven-year-old boy, Nabi Ahmad. Other identified injured victims from the Dolatganj area include:

– Altaf (28)
– Rafiuddin (60)
– Sabista Ansari (20)
– Sabiuddin (62)
– Salma Bee (45)
– Aliya Ansari (23)
– Sahida Ansari (55)
– Aminuddin (40)

Doctors reported that while all the injured are currently in stable condition, they remain under close observation.

### Dramatic Medical Rescue

In one of the most dramatic moments of the rescue operation, a woman was found with her leg badly trapped beneath the rubble. Unable to free her safely, the rescue team, following medical advice, performed an immediate amputation onsite. This urgent procedure enabled her to be evacuated safely.

### Community and Official Response

Within minutes of the collapse, locals and passers-by rushed to the scene, using their bare hands and makeshift tools to rescue nearly six people. Professional rescue teams from the Fire Brigade, Indore Municipal Corporation, and District Disaster Management Force soon arrived, launching a coordinated operation.

Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, District Collector Shivam Verma, and Police Commissioner Santosh Singh also visited the site to oversee the rescue efforts. Collector Verma informed reporters that 13 people were believed trapped initially, out of which 10 have been rescued so far. Rescue work continues for the remaining three individuals.

### Hope Amidst Tragedy

In a hopeful development, emergency personnel managed to establish phone contact with some trapped victims. Rescue team members are maintaining constant communication with them, carefully guiding efforts to clear the debris while minimizing the risk of further injuries.

The community and authorities remain vigilant as rescue operations proceed into the early hours, hoping to save lives and bring relief to the affected families.
