Members of the Yadav community staged a protest in Gurugram on Sunday, demanding a change in the title of Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film *120 Bahadur*. The community argued that their ancestors made significant national sacrifices and insisted that the title be changed to *120 Bahadur Ahir*. They threatened a boycott if their demand is not met.

The movie stars Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC) and is based on the true story of the Battle of Rezang La (1962).

### Community Response

The Yaduvanshi (Ahir) community voiced their opposition to the film during a mahapanchayat held near Kherki Daula toll plaza on Sunday. Speakers expressed that the teaser of *120 Bahadur* unfairly focuses on one soldier, overlooking the collective bravery of Ahir troops who fought in the Rezang La battle.

They demanded a more accurate portrayal of the courage and sacrifice made by the Ahir soldiers, who were part of the 13 Kumaon Battalion.

### Criticism of the Film Title

Community leaders criticized the film’s title, arguing that it diminishes the contribution of the 114 martyrs and distorts the historical record of the 1962 war. TC Rao, a prominent speaker at the event, suggested that before its scheduled release on November 21, 2025, the film should be screened for families of the martyrs and representatives of their community.

The gathering included ex-servicemen and village sarpanches from Gurugram and nearby districts, all pledging their support to the cause.

### Warning of Boycott

Colonel Mahabir Yadav (retd) warned that the issue goes beyond the film itself and concerns protecting the honor of the martyrs. The resolution passed at the mahapanchayat emphasized that the story of Rezang La’s Ahir martyrs must be told strictly according to historical truth, not altered for cinematic effect.

### Film Details

*120 Bahadur* is directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner Excel Entertainment, along with Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios.

As the film’s release date approaches, the community’s demands and concerns continue to draw attention, underlining the sensitive nature of portraying historical events on screen.
