**Abhinav Kashyap Opens Up About Unpleasant Experience Working with Salman Khan**
Abhinav Kashyap, the director of the blockbuster film *Dabangg*, has once again shared his unpleasant experiences of working with actor Salman Khan. In a recent interview with Bollywood Thikana, Kashyap openly slammed Khan and his family, shedding light on the challenges faced during the shoot, particularly Khan’s habitual tardiness on set. His complaints echo similar frustrations expressed by *Sikandar* director A.R. Murugadoss.
**Delayed Shoots and Tardiness**
Kashyap recalled how Khan’s late arrivals affected filming schedules. “He would show up at 5:00 PM, leaving us with about 30 minutes of sunlight to get our shot. That was the only difference,” Kashyap said. “He likes making people wait on him—in the hot sun, tired. We would scramble to get a couple of shots in the can and that would be it for the day,” he added.
He also recounted a specific incident during the shoot of the film’s climax in Panchgani, over four hours from Mumbai. “This one time, we were shooting in Panchgani. Initially, his people kept lying—they said he had left and was on his way. Then they claimed he was coming in his vanity van and was sleeping,” Kashyap revealed.
**Financial Loss Due to Delays**
Kashyap explained the financial implications of Khan’s delays. The actor finally arrived by helicopter, which descended to just 15 meters above the set. “Then, Salman stuck his head out, made a gesture with his hand, and left,” Kashyap recalled. “There were easily over 200 people on set that day as we were shooting the climax. The day-players had to be paid. It costs money.”
Ultimately, Kashyap shared that Khan decided to postpone the shoot to the next day, causing further inconvenience and additional expenses.
**Similar Complaints from Other Industry Professionals**
Kashyap’s experience is not isolated. Director A.R. Murugadoss had earlier spoken about similar difficulties. In an interview with Valaipechu Voice, Murugadoss said, “It’s not easy to shoot with a star. Even day scenes, we have to shoot at night because he turns up to sets only by 8:00 PM. We are people who are used to shooting right from early mornings, but that’s not how things work there.”
Actor Grusha Kapoor also shared a comparable experience working with Salman Khan. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, she recalled, “He was sitting on the sofa in a ganji and jeans, talking to the director. I just turned and snapped at the director, ‘What are we waiting for? It’s almost 9:00 PM.’”
These accounts collectively paint a picture of the challenges faced by filmmakers and crew when working with Salman Khan, highlighting issues of punctuality and professionalism on set.
