**Mohanlal’s ‘Hridayapoorvam’ Faces Backlash from Doctor Over Organ Transplantation Scenes**

Renowned actor Mohanlal’s latest film *Hridayapoorvam* has come under criticism from the medical community, specifically from Dr. Haris Chirackal, head of the urology department at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. The doctor has raised concerns regarding the film’s portrayal of organ transplantation and post-transplant care.
**Concerns Over Post-Transplant Care Depiction**
Dr. Chirackal emphasized the critical importance of post-transplant care, highlighting that patients who undergo organ transplants face significant risks, including organ rejection and vulnerability to infections. He expressed disappointment over the film’s comedic approach to these serious issues, stating, “Comedy has no place here.”
He further explained that transplant patients must avoid exposing themselves to infections from people and animals, and steer clear of accidents or physical altercations. According to him, the film glosses over these vital precautions, which can mislead viewers about the realities of post-transplant recovery.
**Misrepresentation of the Heart**
Another point of contention for Dr. Chirackal was the way the film depicted the heart. He clarified that, scientifically, the heart is an organ responsible for pumping blood and should not be attributed with “feelings” as portrayed in the movie. He warned that such distortions compromise scientific awareness among the public and damage the credibility of cinema when science is twisted or misrepresented.
**Balanced Perspective**
Despite his criticisms, Dr. Chirackal made it clear that his objections were limited to the film’s medical inaccuracies. He praised the movie overall, saying, “The movie is good. I pointed out only one disagreement in its content. That’s all.”
