*Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh):* The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has announced that it will take strict action against individuals developing illegal colonies within a week. Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar recently convened a meeting with all departmental heads to review ongoing work and emphasize accountability.
During the meeting, Commissioner Ahirwar directed the Colony Cell in-charge to ensure decisive action is taken against unauthorized colony developments within the stipulated time frame. He made it clear that no negligence or carelessness would be tolerated in this regard.
Furthermore, the Commissioner instructed that permissions granted for valid colonies, where development work remains incomplete beyond the allowed deadline, should be canceled, and appropriate action should be taken against the responsible parties.
**Focus on Strengthening Financial Position**
To enhance the financial health of the Municipal Corporation, Ahirwar stressed the importance of increasing revenue sources. He urged all departmental heads to collaborate closely with the revenue department staff to boost income.
As part of these efforts, he directed the Garden Officer to initiate the development of the Dumna Nature Park Rest House on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This project aims to provide tourists with world-class facilities, similar to those of a 5-star hotel. The Commissioner also ordered that a detailed proposal for this initiative be prepared and submitted within a week, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
**Campaign Against Encroachments**
In an effort to maintain order and facilitate smooth movement in the city, the Municipal Commissioner launched a campaign to remove encroachments from all major roads and market areas. He instructed officials from the encroachment department to make regular public announcements and personally monitor affected sites. The directive emphasized that all roads must be kept free from any unauthorized encroachments.

During the review meeting, the Commissioner sought updates on the functioning of various departments, including the Colony Cell, Building Branch, Encroachment, Health, Public Works, Sewer, Water, Law, and others.
